4-BIT PARALLEL-ACCESS SHIFT REGISTERS

A 4-bit parallel access shift register integrated circuit (IC) that is part of the 7400 series of digital logic chips. It contains four parallel input/output (I/O) ports, four shift enable inputs (SE), a master reset input (MR), and a serial input/output (SER) port. The 7495 can be configured to operate in either serial or parallel mode by connecting the appropriate pins. In parallel mode, the four I/O ports can be used to simultaneously read or write four bits of data. In serial mode, the SER port is used to shift data in and out of the register one bit at a time, while the SE inputs are used to control the shifting operation. The MR input resets the shift register to a known state. The 7495 chip is commonly used in digital circuits for data storage, data transmission, and serial-to-parallel or parallel-to-serial conversion.
